No access to my pictures-useless

Im attempting to use this app on iPad mini 3. Admittedly it is an iPhone app, but it should still work. It doesnt. Navigating around the products is easy and intuitive, but when I go to create an album, I see the album structure of my photo albums but no pictures.its all blank... Same story in the upload photos area. If you cant see and choose photos, then there isnt much you can do with the app.
